MEETING WITH THE LEBANESE AMBASSADOR TO CANADA FADI ZIADEH

IDAL's Chairman Nabil Itani met with the Lebanese ambassador to Canada Fadi Ziadeh. Discussions tackled diaspora affairs and IDAL's participation at the LDE Youth that will take place in Montreal on Sept 15-16, an event organized in parallel with the LDE conference but will be targeting startups, accelerators and incubators.

SOUTH LEBANON VISIT

Within its support to the Lebanese agricultural exports, IDAL`s chairman, Eng. Nabil Itani, visited a number of agricultural investment projects in South Lebanon, checking the standards adopted within the framework of the Agri Plus program. Eng. Itani declared that 20 % of the packing houses in the South have been awarded HACCP and ISO certificates.  Lebanese products are facing strong competition abroad, where quality and packaging play a crucial role. Lebanese agricultural exports have been in line with strict conditions set by some countries for food safety.

VISIT TO A NUMBER OF VEGETABLE AND FRUIT PACKING HOUSES IN NORTH LEBANON

Within its support to the Lebanese exports, namely the agricultural ones, IDAL`s chairman, Eng. Nabil Itani, visited a number of vegetable and fruit packing houses in North Lebanon, checking the standards adopted within the framework of the Agri Plus program. Eng. Itani declared that this program has achieved the set objectives, especially the advancement of the packaging centers and their development, through the obtention of HACCP and ISO certificates (20 centers to date), and the increase of the number of farmers who have obtained the "Global Gap" certificate among others (16 farmhouses).

ARAB ECONOMIC FORUM

IDAL participated at the Arab Economic Forum in its 26th edition as a golden sponsor. During "The future of investment in the Arab countries" session, Chairman Eng. Nabil Itani stressed the need to adopt new trends in investment, consisting of supporting and encouraging new sectors that are based on innovation and knowledge. FDI inflows to Lebanon recorded 5.1 percent of the GDP in 2017, the highest in the region.
